Prenatal classes

edited July 2016 in Pregnancy
What do you think about prenatal classes?
Are you planning on attending one or have done one when you were pregnant?

I read up on what you do in those classes and decided not to attend one when I was pregnant. It just did not make sense for me to go as I don’t think they could have shown me anything to make my labour any easier than it was in the end.

Would be interested to know what you think about that?

  • Before my first birth, I decided to attend a prenatal class. It was a good experience, and I found myself well prepared for the birth. The parents that I met at these classes were very nice and I'm still in contact with some of them.
  • what was it that you were told or tought in that class? I can´t think of anything that I did not read up on before. Sure you get to meet other mums to be which I guess would have been nice.
  • I have really enjoyed taking prenatal classes. I feel like it has helped me just during the pregnancy and of course, I look forward to using my new skills during labor, but I am very glad I did. There are different types of classes, so maybe some are not that useful, but for me reading about it didn't help nearly as much as hands-on instruction.
